I have now retired but will continue to keep this web site live as a resource in case it is helpful to people. Due to my recent experience I am now adapting it to be helpful for people who have received a life limiting diagnosis like cancer. 

I am also raising funds for Prof Gourley to carry out research in Edinburgh University for Low Grade  Serous Carcinoma ovarian cancer ( currently not funded by the main cancer charities as it is a rare one). I have a specific interest as I have been diagnosed with this.

Hypnotherapy and Counselling:

All people have problems at some time in their lives, anything from difficulties with relationships, low self esteem, wanting to quit smoking, to weight problems, lack of confidence, phobias (dentists, flying, dogs, or certain foods) and of course a life limiting diagnosis like cancer.

It is recognised more these days that anxiety and stress plays an enormous role in our lives and how important it is to manage it for our longer term health and well-being. It is especially important for people with cancer to try to reduce the amount of stress they experience as this can exacerbate the spread of the disease.

What can Hypnotherapy and Counselling do for me?

Hypnotherapy enables you to become very relaxed and focussed on what is being  said to you, allowing access to the subconscious mind, where old outdated and self defeating patterns of behaviour that are holding you back can be changed.

You can be reassured that you cannot be hypnotised unless you want to be and you can’t get “stuck” in hypnosis. You are in control at all times, able to hear what I’m saying, you’re simply just very relaxed and comfortable.

Hypnotherapy & Counselling will lower your levels of anxiety, and allow you to understand how your subconscious has learned to interpret situations (often incorrectly) which influences the way you behave. Old unwanted patterns of behaviour that make you feel negative about yourself can be changed and your confidence & self esteem will be improved.

It can be very effective listening to a guided visualisation on line as in a face to face situation during the Pandemic. 

What is Counselling or Psychotherapy?

In counselling or longer term psychotherapy sessions, various aspects of your life are explored along with  the feelings connected with them. Talking about things freely and openly in a non-judgemental environment  can help situations feel less intense.
